    About The Job:

    This person provides a smooth transition for patients by performing various medical and scheduling activities to assure quality care and a more efficient work place. This person will also complete any necessary prior authorizations as needed. They also coordinate care with patients, providers, and insurance companies.

     

    The Shift: Full-Time (1.0 FTE) (40 hours per week)

     

    Hours: Works Monday through Saturday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

     

    Pay: $19.61, increases with experience.

    Qualifications

    + Education:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + Graduate of an approved school for medical assistants, certification as a medical assistant is required.

    + Graduate of an approved school for Licensed Practical Nurses preferred.

    + Completion of Certified Nurse Aide course. Must be active on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry

    + Basic understanding and application of CPT, ICD-9 (10), and LMRP.

    + Experience:

    + A minimum of six months work experience in a health care facility performing duties relating to patient care is preferred.

    + Additional experience involving computerized data equipment is preferred.

    + Previous Centralized Scheduling experience preferred.

    + Special Skills & Aptitudes:

    + Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain and display professionalism with customers and coworkers.

    + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

    + Advanced computer and telephone skills

    + Flexibility and adaptability.

    + A sense of the importance of the certified medical assistant's/LPN's role as a patient advocate.

    + Willingness to be accountable/responsible for own actions.

    + Must demonstrate competence in BCLS within six months in position by obtaining certification.

    + Must be knowledgeable of medical and radiological exams.

    + Must be able to communicate procedure instructions to patients.

    + Must be current in Iowa Mandatory Reporting status.

    Who We Are:

    Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.
