Fabrication Machinist

Compensation: $24.00 - $29.00 / hour
Description
The Fabrication Machinist position involves assembling products by retrieving, lifting, carrying and various size parts. In addition, positioning, measuring, fitting, and using various assembly aid tools such as files, drills, rivet guns, hand tools, and other assembly tools. Operate machines such as drill, stamping press, metal bending and cutting band.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately, safely, and efficiently performed small fabrication and assembly operations of large and small steel, aluminum, fiberglass and using handheld and power tools and equipment.
Reading, writing, and comprehending written and verbal instructions, including but not limited to reading and interpreting engineering drawings and build orders.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
SKILLS:
+ Motivated individual able to self-direct and work independently
+ Ability to read and analyze blueprints, use and read measuring instruments, change tooling, and make offsets.
+ Experience CNC machining a variety of materials and forms (casting, forging, billet)
+ Correctly, accurately, safely, and efficiently assemble components to suit the job requirements.
+ Basic math skills
+ Correct, safe and efficient use of various tools as described in position summary.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
+ Safety glasses with side shields, face shields when operating chip producing equipment such as saws, grinders, routers, wire wheeling, and acid cleaning.
+ Gloves as required Follow safe work instructions and maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
+ Other Department/Job specific Personal Protective Equipment as required.
EDUCATION:
+ Minimum of 1 year experience as a CNC Machinist in a Manufacturing Shop Environment
+ Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $24.00 to $29.00 per hour.
Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
