Job Purpose: The Fabrication Team Lead provides leadership to Composite Technicians performing aircraft maintenance and parts fabrication in a variety of areas to deliver quality and value to a diverse set of aviation customers. The Team Lead also performs Composite Technician responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide leadership to Fabrication technicians to keep them focused on their responsibilities and tasks
+ Ensure all mechanics have clear understanding of the project they are working and remain on task
+ Work with Production Manager to ensure project maintenance and modification is competed in accordance with documentation and meets customers’ requirements
+ Follow proper blueprint and posted procedures when making decisions regarding parts fabrication and assemblies
+ Conduct weekly team meetings with staff
+ Assist with metrics for weekly production reports
+ Work with the Production Manager to ensure tasks are completed on time
+ Ensure necessary parts and tooling are ordered for assigned project
+ Ensure proper paperwork is completed for assigned project (EWR’s)
+ Maintain Alodine processes, maintain quantity levels needed to accomplish parts on-time
+ Work with and around a variety of chemicals and follow all OSHA standards in regard to PPE
+ Work with Production Manager to correct or reward personnel behavior as needed
+ Maintain shop tooling and equipment
+ Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED required
+ Ability to lead a group of mechanics to complete projects in a given timeframe
+ Technical aptitude
+ Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations
+ Ability to work well with others in a diverse group
+ A&P license with some technical or college experience preferred
+ Some aviation and/or fiberglass experience is required
+ Basic mechanical experience is desired
+ Ability to:
+ + Crawl in and out of tight spaces
+ Comfortably work at elevated heights of at least 40 feet for extended periods of time
+ Lift, balance, and carry 50 lbs.
+ Work in enclosed hangars and exterior weather conditions
+ Work in close proximity to other people
