Amazon Technical Academy (ATA) Software Development Engineer I (SDE) Trainee Program:

We are looking for aspiring and motivated individuals who align with our Leadership Principles for our SDE-I Trainee [ATA] roles. SDE-I Trainees [ATA] will have completed their formal technical training and will join Amazon teams for on-the-job training.
Key job responsibilities
As an SDE-I Trainee [ATA], you will:
• Have a unique opportunity to combine technical and hands on training with a tech team as you further develop your software development skills.
• Learn to design, build, and test high-quality software solutions. You will be aiming to apply engineering principles to all stages of the software development process, from requirements, analysis and design, development, and data requirements.
• Get the opportunity to work with and learn from a broad mix of other employees with varying experience levels, areas of expertise, and Amazon tenure.
• Work on an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in activities with other trainees throughout your on-the-job training.
• Be provided mentorship.

Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Completed or on track to complete an Amazon Technical Academy approved training program
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency with Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Experience developing on Unix/Linux
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices
• Strong focus on clean code and robust design
• Strong problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $35,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $157,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
