Description
Prime Video is disrupting traditional media with an ever-increasing selection of movies, TV shows, Emmy Award winning original content, add-on subscriptions including HBO and Showtime, and live events like Thursday Night Football. Within this expanding ecosystem, Linear TV (24/7 Television or broadcast programming) has emerged as one of our fastest-growing segments, with viewership hours increasing significantly year over year. This growth demonstrates that even in the streaming era, customers deeply value the lean-back, curated experience that Linear TV provides.
Our data shows that Linear TV viewers develop strong habitual viewing patterns, spending more time on the platform and engaging more consistently than traditional VOD-only users. The key to supporting these viewing habits is providing seamless, personalized discovery experiences through robust and scalable services. The Linear Discovery Service (LDS) team owns the critical infrastructure that determines how Live TV content is presented to customers - from the composition of the Live TV page to search capabilities that help customers find live programming. We decide what linear content appear on Home and Linear pages, their ordering, and how search results are ranked and displayed across all Prime Video clients, ensuring millions of customers can easily find and enjoy their favorite live programming.
This is your opportunity to lead a team of talented engineers in revolutionizing how customers discover and engage with Live TV on Prime Video. As a Software Development Manager, you will drive technical innovation, foster a culture of engineering excellence, and shape the strategic vision for Linear TV discovery.
