The role of a IT Manager for marketing, Search, e-commerce, customer portal and analytics is vital in today’s digital landscape. As businesses strive to enhance their online presence and optimize customer interactions, this position combines technical expertise with strategic vision to drive success across multiple digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Set up the Dev Ops and Project Delivery processes leveraging internal and external resources.
• Establish support structure to provide 24 hr support for key applications.
• Master of SDLC. Able to establish schedule and resource plan and direct solution architects, developers, testing team. Able to conduct architecture review and code review, etc.
• Setting up the necessary process for Dev Ops: release mgt(2 week cycle), patching, upgrade process, deployment, automated testing, performance/security testing, etc.
2. Team Leadership
Leadership and team management are integral to this position. The IT Manager leads a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment. They are responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining talent to build a high-performing team.
3. Vendor Relations
Maintaining relationships with vendors and service providers is essential for the successful implementation of technology solutions. The IT Manager negotiates contracts, evaluates vendor performance, and ensures that services are delivered as per agreement.
4. Cybersecurity
Ensuring the security of digital platforms and protecting customer data is paramount. The Senior IT Manager implements cybersecurity measures, monitors for potential threats, and establishes protocols to respond to security incidents. Regular audits and updates are conducted to maintain the highest security standards.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Expertise
Must haves:
An IT Manager must possess deep technical knowledge in areas such as Web CMS, eCom, customer portal, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure. Proficiency in various programming languages, software development frameworks, and cloud computing platforms is crucial. Specifically, AEM, Hybris, integration (ETL, APIGEE ) with Magento/SAP ERP/ SAP Hana/Elastic, Adobe Analytics expertise, are must haves. Marketo a plus. Magento, PIM/DAM preferred.
Ready to roll his/her sleeves for hands on coding if needed: AEM, Marketo, Search and Analytics. Willingness to learn Hybris.
6 years+ experiences managing IT teams.
Nice to haves:
• Ability to incorporate AI into SDLC and improve dev team efficiency.
• Willingness to be hands to fix urgent issues.
• Willingness to learn/expand to other commercial domains such as PROS, CRM/SFDC, Sales Incentive Plan, and InContact (NICE).
Strategic Thinking
The ability to think strategically and align technology with business objectives is a key skill. This involves understanding market dynamics, anticipating future trends, and developing long-term plans to leverage technology for business growth.
Project Management
Project management skills are essential for overseeing multiple initiatives simultaneously. The ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, is critical to the role.
