    Job Title: Advanced Shipfitter – Multi-Pass Tack & Burn

     

    Job Type:Contract

     

    Shifts:1st (7am–3:30pm), 2nd (3:30–11pm), 3rd (11pm–7am) – Flexibility required

    Are you a skilled metalworker with a passion for precision and craftsmanship? Join our team as anAdvanced Shipfitter, where you'll play a key role in building and maintaining world-class naval vessels. We're looking for professionals with hands-on experience in shipfitting and welding who are ready to take on exciting challenges in a dynamic shipyard environment.

    What You’ll Do

    + Perform multi-pass tack welding using the SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) process.

    + Use oxygen/propane torches for cutting, heating, and shaping metal components.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and weld symbols to guide your work.

    + Measure and lay out materials with precision using standard tools.

    + Assemble structural components with a focus on quality, safety, and accuracy.

    + Operate tools such as grinders and needle gun sto finish and prepare surfaces.

    + Follow all OSHA safety standards and contribute to a safe work environment.

    What You Bring

    + At least4 years of experience in commercial or naval shipfitting (first-class level).

    + Strong skills intack weldingand metal fabrication.

    + Ability to read and understandtechnical drawings and measurements.

    + Familiarity withOSHA regulationsin industrial or shipyard settings.

    + Must be aU.S. Citizenand able to pass aSingle Pass Tack Welder Qualification Test.

    Work Environment

     

    You’ll be working in ahands-on, physically activeenvironment—either aboard Navy vessels or in a modern shop setting. Conditions vary with the seasons, so be prepared for hot summers and cool winters.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
