Summary This National Guard position is for a HR SPECIALIST (MILITARY) - Title 32, Position Description Number D1176000 and is part of the 641st Troop Command Battalion, Wisconsin Army National Guard. Responsibilities As a HR SPECIALIST (MILITARY) - Title 32, GS-0201-9, you will oversee and ensure the accomplishment of work performed in the areas of personnel management, administration, and public relations. The incumbent of this position works under the direction of the Officer in Charge (OIC) or Commander. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: O-1 through O-3 Conditions of Employment: - National Guard Membership is required. - Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. - Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. - May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. - Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. - This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. - May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; comp time may be required. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-09 level, you must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures is preferred. Specialized experience factors encompass human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD and U.S. Army.
