About the Team:

We are the core middleware engineering team (Zoom Async Team) , responsible for building and maintaining the mission-critical backend infrastructure that powers the entire company. Our team designs and develops self-developed , high-performance middleware systems , including AsyncMQ, AsyncSearch, AsyncFile, AsyncNotification etc . These systems form the foundation of over 400+ business services across the organization.

We leverage cutting-edge technologies to deliver common shared backend platforms with high performance, high availability and high controllability, providing robust and reliable support for massive-scale data and service operations.

What You’ll Do:

+ Design, develop, and optimize Java-based microservices that form the building blocks of our self-hosted middleware solutions.

+ Build and operate high-throughput Async File system

+ Integrate and optimize cloud storage platforms including AWS S3, DynamoDB , and OCI .

+ Deploy, monitor, and scale services in Kubernetes (K8s) environments.

+ Tune system and application performance; diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks.

+ Set up and maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability using APM tools and Linux-based diagnostics.

+ Collaborate with other backend teams to improve infrastructure reliability and developer efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

+ 6 + years experience in Java backend development in microservices architecture

+ Possess experience in Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems patterns

+ Have Nginx and Lua scripting

+ Have working experience in Linux environments, proficient with Shell scripting.

+ Possess hands-on experience with AWS (S3, DynamoDB) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

+ Have kubernetes, containerization, and services orchestration experience

+ Understand communication protocols: TCP, HTTP, HTTP/2, WebSocket.

+ Have in-depth knowledge of JVM internals, garbage collection tuning, and performance profiling

+ Experience with APM tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, SkyWalking, or similar).

+ Mandarin Chinese language – a plus for cross-regional collaboration.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$98 900,00

Maximum:

$228 700,00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
