GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Economic Development Grants Manager will develop and manage the Economic Development Pillar in alignment with the Strategic Plan and BGCPR’s Logic Model. This role involves designing programmatic content based on the analysis of PESTELE (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, Legal, and Ethical factors), the Voice of the Client, and current and future trends. The manager will collaborate on grant development that aligns with designed programs and ensures compliance with approved grant requirements.
TASKS AND ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Identify and evaluate economic and employment needs of youth, young adults and families.
+ Design programmatic content, establish implementation phases, and create evaluation tools to ensure quality. This includes using PESTELE analysis, the Voice of the Client, and current/future trends, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Plan and BGCPR’s Logic Model. Collaborate in the development of grants aligned with the designed programs.
+ Monitor compliance with grant requirements, ensure proper funds utilization, and assess the quality of grant execution.
+ Work with the Program Manager and the Fiscal Officer to develop budgets and make grant amendments as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with grant contracts, regulations (such as CFR 200), and internal processes. Oversee proper documentation and record-keeping of participant agreements, reports, and other information required by agencies or stakeholders.
+ Manage external audits and communications with agencies or stakeholders to ensure compliance.
+ Visit Clubs regularly to assess and ensure the quality of program implementation.
+ Collect information and develop reports for stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
+ Work with the Content Researcher to manage and track the Pillar’s outcomes.
+ Perform any other task requested by the supervisor.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
+ Bachelor’s in Business, Administration, Economy, Human Resources, or a related field.
+ Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
+ Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and structure of the English language.
+ Understanding of customer needs, service quality, and satisfaction evaluation.
+ Ability to analyze information and choose the best solution.
+ Skill in organizing tasks and setting priorities.
+ Ability to provide expert advice on technical, systems, or process topics.
+ Identifying educational needs and providing training to others.
+ Assessing whether processes meet laws, regulations, or standards.
+ Breaking down information or data to understand underlying factors.
+ Observing processes and materials to detect problems.
+ Leading and coordinating group efforts to achieve tasks.
+ Developing innovative ideas, systems, or products.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
+ The position is based in a typical office environment with occasional travel to Club locations across Puerto Rico.
+ Availability for evening and weekend engagement with funders is required.
+ Frequent internal communication with employees is necessary.
+ The role may involve reaching, lifting (up to 15 pounds), and using proper lifting techniques to file documents or store materials.
+ Ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time.
+ Frequent use of a computer and other office equipment (e.g., phone, fax, copier).
+ Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and multitasking.
+ Team-oriented but may also involve working independently.
