    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced **Manager of Process Controls Engineering** to lead and manage a team of talented controls engineers while actively contributing to the successful execution of projects. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and project management to ensure successful execution of projects, client satisfaction, and alignment with organizational goals. The Manager will oversee staffing, resource allocation, and technical competency development while also contributing to business development, strategic planning, and quality initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership & Team Management:

    + Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and support to the Controls Engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

    + Manage team workloads, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of projects and tasks.

    + Recruit, train, and develop engineering talent, supporting career growth and professional development.

    + Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

    Project Execution:

    + Actively participate in the design, development, and implementation of process and electrical control systems for projects, including hardware, software, and system integration.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and process engineers) to ensure seamless project execution.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to process control systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

    + Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

    Technical Expertise:

    + Lead the development of innovative control strategies and solutions that meet customer requirements and industry standards.

    + Oversee the design of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other automation technologies.

    + Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies in all engineering activities.

    + Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in controls engineering, driving continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

    Communication & Collaboration:

    + Serve as the primary point of contact for Controls Engineering within the organization, effectively communicating project updates, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.

    + Collaborate with customers, vendors, and partners to ensure successful project delivery and satisfaction.

    + Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

    + Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in controls engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.

    + Knowledge in process controls related to paint and coating applications, air supply and exhaust systems, chilled/hot water systems, compressed air systems, and other manufacturing equipment.

    + Strong understanding of control system design, instrumentation, and industrial automation processes.

    + Proven track record of managing and delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.

    + Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical work.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit modeling software is a plus.

    + Previous experience with PLC’s (Allen Bradley ControlLogix family, Siemens), networks (Profibus, Ethernet, DeviceNet, etc.) and related software a plus.

    + Experience in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, energy, or robotics.

    + Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
