A Brief Summary of This Position:

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Custodian position in the Global Coatings Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be self-motivated and maintain the cleanliness of the Galvanizing offices, break areas, restrooms, and breakrooms. Additionally, you will… sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum office spaces, hallways, restrooms, and breakrooms.

Essential Functions:

+ Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, baseboards, walls, and fixtures

+ Empty waste baskets and trash barrels

+ Notify management of required maintenance or repairs of property and buildings

+ Salt and shovel doorways and walkways in the wintertime

+ Removal of unused dunnage, nails, screws, banding, and other materials that could pose a hazard

+ Follow instructions regarding safe use of chemicals and supplies

+ Maintain inventory of supplies and request reorder when necessary

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

+ The ability to communicate problems or needs to departmental supervision

+ The ability to lift up to 50 pounds

+ The ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and kneel

+ The ability to push, pull, pull, move, and lift objects

+ Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

+ The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner

+ The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions

+ High awareness for safety at all times

+ The ability to recognize hazardous substances and know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety and emergency response

Highly Qualified Candidates Possess:

+ Six months or more of previous experience in custodial or janitorial positions

+ Six months or more of previous experience working in an industrial environment

+ Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety risks
