About This Role:
The International Compliance and Student Success Manager oversees compliance with federal regulations related to F and J visas, ensuring adherence to immigration policies and procedures. This role involves serving as the primary resource for international students and scholars, providing guidance on immigration matters, and managing SEVIS data. Additionally, the manager supports international student success by coordinating programs and events, advising students on personal and academic issues, and collaborating with stakeholders to address challenges. Furthermore, the manager collects data, administers and analyzes survey results, and writes reports to make recommendations for improvement.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
Compliance:
+ Act as the Alternate Responsible Officer ( ARO ) for the Department of State and Designated School Official ( DSO ) for the Department of Homeland Security on all Curricular Practical Training ( CPT ), Academic Training (AT), and Optional Practical Training ( OPT ) related cases.
+ Interpret F-1 and J-1 visa regulations to ensure compliance and provide counseling and advising support to international students and scholars.
+ Assist students in obtaining F-1/J-1 immigration benefits and process I-20s and DS-2019s as required.
+ Serve as a resource on immigration regulations, policies, and practices to faculty and staff.
+ Assist with check-in and SEVIS registration.
+ Contribute to the development and presentation of specialized workshops and programs related to immigration.
International Student Success
+ Manage current programs and events for OIES .
+ Analyze customer service survey results and make recommendations for improvement of programs and events.
+ Advise students on personal and academic issues and refer them to support services.
+ Collaborate with the executive director and stakeholders to resolve student challenges.
+ Write professional semester and annual reports on assigned projects.
+ Update and develop marketing materials for OIES programs and events.
+ Collect and disseminate data for F and J programs.
+ Supervise work study and international graduate students.
+ Assist with other OIES projects (Cardinal View, festivals, New Student Orientation, etc.)
Key Competencies:
+ Five years of experience in international education with a proven record of success preferred.
+ Three years of full-time experience in an international education office.
+ Experience traveling, studying, or working abroad.
+ Demonstrated experience with student outreach and student success.
+ Experience in a position requiring planning, representing an organization, teamwork, and communication to achieve results.
+ Proficiency using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, social media, digital marketing, and email.
+ Knowledge of and experience with student development and student success theory.
Physical Requirements: Able to lift 25 lbs. and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
Job Conditions:
+ Must be able to work from the office and provide face-to-face customer service with OIES clientele.
+ Must be able to use a computer, telephone, copier, and printer.
+ Must be able to lift, move, or carry individual documents and paper boxes as part of the records retention process.
+ Must be able to haul 25+ pounds of materials for events and programs (tailgates, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, English, Marketing, Psychology, International Relations, or related field.
+ Three years of progressively responsible management experience of teams and projects, preferably in international education, immigration services, or student outreach.
