    EIM Load and Reconciliation Analyst Sr

     

    Salary Grade: G06

    $78,537 - $106,024 - $133,511

    SUMMARY:

    Provide general mentoring of staff to oversee maintenance of Mv90 meter data system and MDM systems. Mentor peers in the department on processing data used by CAISO systems. Position will also support Balancing Authority Area Day After and Month End Interchange checkout activities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Coordinates with department Manager to mentor staff on extensive databases of EIM related load, generation, and Wholesale MW Interchange data using Wholesale Mv90 revenue quality meter data procedures

     

    Reviews and approves submissions to CAISO that verification, editing and data estimating (VEE) of meter data meet SQMD requirement

     

    Conducts research to aid in interpretation of economic relationships and aid in the solution of problems specific to load research and data analysis associated with the PNM MV90 database and the PNM MDM system

     

    Verifies and maintains the integrity of MW energy data developed by staff from over 100 intertie and resource meters to checkout balancing and enforce routine control procedures

     

    Troubleshoots and ensures proper conformance of revenue quality meter data (RQMD) to other down flow systems

     

    Department lead for dispute resolution of 5-minute, 15-minute, hourly data discrepancies with CAISO

     

    Reviews in coordination with CAISO settlement business practices and business timelines for dispute resolution

     

    Supports Balancing Authority Area Day After, Weekly, Bi-weekly and Month End Interchange checkout activities, researches issues and inquiries received from Reliability Operations and coordinates resources in the group for those change requests that require correction

     

    Maintains standardized counter party checkout documentation files with enough information to satisfy audit requirements

     

    Supports annual self-audit requirements per the CAISO metering BPM assessments of the process flow of meter data beginning with the VEE process and follow the process through submittal of actual SQMD to CAISO

     

    Completes EIM processes in support of key business activities and goals

     

    Mentors staff and assists in resolving meter data integrity issues and deals with a variety of variables in situations, where only limited standardization exists and support solutions to issues created by validating and correcting large amounts of EIM data from various PNM and CAISO systems

    COMPETENCIES:

    Experience in economic analysis and power system operations and knowledge of PNMs system

     

    Strongly versed in continuous process improvement, root cause analysis, and change management

     

    In-depth knowledge of the interconnected bulk power generation and transmission network and the operational aspects that affect wholesale markets, and of competitive markets such as the CAISO EIM markets

     

    Ability and flexibility to successfully perform in competitive environments while working both independently and in a team environment

     

    Thorough understanding of the regulatory process and issues affecting the EIM markets at the CAISO, State and Federal levels

     

    Ability to work with others within the department and external departments, train assigned staff including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments

     

    Ability to analyze complex systems, events, and data and make targeted improvements Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Adapt creative problem-solving skills to difficult challenges

    QUALIFICATIONS

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics with Five to Seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

     

    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

     

    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, high understanding of fundamentals of statistics

     

    Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    Extensive working knowledge of database, spreadsheet and word processing software and preferred experience using PI or logical operator functions in PCI EIM relates applications

    ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time and use of fine dexterity. Occasional standing and walking. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Office environment.
