    Fleet Mechanic – $29.00-33.00/hr | 1st Shift | Temp-to-Perm

     

    **Location:** Swartz Creek, MI

    **Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

    What You’ll Do

     

    You’ll take ownership of diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of fleet and industrial equipment, ensuring everything from forklifts to aerial lifts are operating safely and efficiently.

    Key responsibilities include:

    + Performing scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections

    + Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, brake, and electrical systems

    + Repairing LP and electric forklifts, personnel carriers, aerial lifts, and fleet vehicles

    + Handling service calls and documenting repairs

    + Completing checklists, work orders, and maintenance reports

    + Ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment

    What You Bring

    + High school diploma or GED, or at least 2 years of recent, relevant experience

    + Strong mechanical knowledge of industrial vehicles and equipment

    + Hands-on experience with hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems

    + Ability to lift, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks as needed

    + Reliable attendance, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently

    + Must be 18+ (21+ if CDL is required), and able to pass a background check and drug screen

    Preferred Experience

    + Forklift and propane fuel system repair

    + Internal combustion and diesel engines

    + Diagnostics and maintenance record systems

    + Light/heavy truck repair

    + Industrial shop or field service work
