Jered is looking for a Product Development Engineer that has extensive experience with electrohydraulic, and electromechanical maritime deck machinery. The Product Development Engineer will actively participate and shape the sales strategy to help achieve sales objectives, margins, and technical deliverables. This position balances the understanding of the detailed design with the customer's problems, needs, and objectives. The Engineer will work directly with customers and stakeholders on requests for quotes and specifications. This position requires strong leadership, project management, organizational, and communication skills. this individual will also need to have the ability to address technical, quality, and business aspects of bids, while also being able to work independently and lead cross-functional teams in accomplishment of complex tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Produce high-quality conceptual designs

+ Review and tailor legacy products to understand future product offering and development of research and development strategies

+ Inform Customers on Jered equipment and designs to shape future solicitations

+ Provide/review cost effective proposals that meet the customer specifications.

+ Provide bill of material inputs for material sourcing packages.

+ Interface with Estimating, Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering.

+ Communicate directly with new and existing subcontractors and suppliers for bid requirements.

+ Technically evaluate vendor/subcontractor bids.

+ Conduct and Lead technical meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.

+ Complete/review technical proposals and respective documents for compliance to bid requirements.

+ Modify/review technical proposals in response to amendments, customer clarifications, or other direction.

+ Develop an effective teaming relationship with the shipyard and navy personnel

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering

+ 5+ years' Experience in the Maritime industry

+ Understanding of Military specifications, qualification, and standards

+ Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks and AutoCad

+ Strong communication skills - written and verbal

+ Highly organized with effective time management skills
