    Are you a software engineer passionate about building tools that empower others? Join the Walmart/VIZIO team as a Senior Software Engineer where you will design and implement backend solutions for cutting-edge TV Box applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, utilizing your expertise in Python and Django, and making a significant impact on our technology stack.

     

    About the Team

     

    The Walmart/VIZIO team is dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance user experiences. Our team operates in a dynamic and collaborative environment, focusing on backend architecture and development for TV Box applications. Your role will be crucial in driving our mission to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software that aligns with the company’s goals.

     

    What you'll do...

     

    + Design and implement the back-end Linux-based TV Box app architecture and database.

    + Develop TV Box application backend using Python and Django framework.

    + Build and maintain healthy monitoring and statistics systems.

    + Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

    + Implement middle- and high-level features such as authorization, web server, streaming server, and more.

    + Leverage GitHub Copilot, LLM-based assistants, and other AI tools to accelerate development, enhance code quality, and drive innovation in automation and tooling.

    What You’ll Bring 

    + Strong coding experience with Python

    + Strong system engineering experience with Unix/Linux

    + Proven experience building developer tools, automation infrastructure, or internal platforms.

    + Solid understanding of modern software development practices including CI/CD, testability, and modular architecture.

    + Experience working with or developing distributed systems or hardware-in-the-loop environments.

    + Strong collaboration and mentoring skills, with the ability to support teams using your tools and frameworks.

    Bonus Points 

    + Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

    + Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

    + Experience with DevOps practices.

    + Experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

    Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities.
