Department: Diagnostic Radiology
Shift: PT 24hr. Weekend Saturday and Sunday, 5:00am – 5:30pm

•️ Your Mission:
The Radiologic Technologist II Acute works independently and/or assists physicians/APCs in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images in the acute setting. The technologist is responsible for inpatient & outpatient procedures, the emergency room, fluoroscopy, portables, and the operating rooms.

• What You’ll Do:
+ Performing Imaging Procedures: Operating medical imaging equipment to capture images of patients' bodies.
+ Patient Care: Preparing patients for procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, taking medical histories, and ensuring patient comfort and safety during the exam.
+ Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Adjusting and maintaining imaging equipment to ensure optimal image quality and equipment functionality.
+ Image Evaluation: Reviewing images to ensure clarity and accuracy before submitting them to radiologists for interpretation.
+ Radiation Safety: Adhering to safety protocols and using protective measures (like lead aprons and shielding) to minimize radiation exposure for themselves and patients.
+ Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed patient records, including exam details, images, and any relevant information.
• What We’re Looking For:
+ Education : Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program. Certification required within 6 months of hire post-graduation from an accredited Radiology Program, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
+ Experience : Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic radiology, preferred.
+ Licensure/Certification : ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R), required. Applicable state licensure as required, required. Post-graduates from an accredited Radiology Program with be required to pass their ARRT registry within 6 months of completing program, required.

Qualifications

+ Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
+ Applies principles of ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patient, self, and others.
+ Demonstrates current knowledge of federal and state radiation safety laws.
+ Properly utilizes personnel monitoring devices.
+ Ensures proper equipment performance and schedules maintenance for emergent needs.
+ Properly operates radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
+ Independently performs radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures, including intraoperative and mobile procedures, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
+ Assists a licensed practitioner in the performance of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including all intraoperative and mobile procedures including the following: ERCP’s, bronchoscopy, mini-c-arms, post reductions.
+ Mobile imaging including lines and pacers and neonates.
