    What You'll Do

     

    As a **Physical Security Planner** , you will be responsible for the establishment, implementation and management of a fully integrated, worldwide technical physical security program for Principal. Provides technical expertise in establishing physical security standards and implementing physical security technologies to aid in the protection of personnel and assets around the world. Provides advice and assistance in determining security system specifications, developing plans, identifying system integrators, coordinating installation, managing maintenance services, and evaluating and assessing developing security technology and functionality in the context of company requirements.

     

    + Oversee theGlobal Physical Security Standards for implementation across the company. Acts as the primary liaison to field operations and property management in the areas of design and implementation of physical security solutions. Thisincludes risk analysis, design, application, selection, installation and use of "enterprise type" systems consisting of: access control systems, biometric systems, software systems, alarm monitoring systems, perimeter detection systems, asset protection systems, intrusion detection systems, video surveillance (CCTV) system, lock and key systems, security console/ command center systems, communication systems, life safety systems, fire and building codes/systems, and other related systems that maybe interrelated to the overall security system.Translate physical security requirements and corporate policyinto a written scope, generating drawings and specifications for projects and facilities globally. Provide technical oversight and project management expertise for successful completion of physical security installations within budget guidelines.

    + Overseeing and coordinating projects/security hardware repair through completion. Manage relationships with external suppliers, vendors, and contractors to support successful outcomes while aligning with strategic goals. Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors/suppliers to ensure project/hardware repair requirements are communicated and understood.

    + Provide advice and guidance to Global Security Management and business units in developing and applying technical and physical security solutions including technical advice and consultation on cost effective physical security technology applications. Build sound relationships with business units to develop and implement cost-effective technical security solutions that align with Global physical security standards.

    + Coordinate the procurement of technical physical security assets to ensure that Principal Financial Group realizes worldwide synergies through cost leveraging, standardization and quality performance. Work with Global Security Technical Analyst to assist with trouble shooting of exiting systems and designing new systems within the physical security equipment areas.

    + Stay abreast of current and developing technology related to physical security systems and applications. Maintain contact and liaison with industry professionals to cultivate a network of mutual support and knowledge.

    + Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

    Who You Are

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus 6+ years of related experience required.

    + Must have in-depth knowledge of physical security system design requirements and the application of countermeasures for the protection and safeguarding of life, information, assets, and property.

    + Must have a strong background in access control software programming and preferred background in electronic cylinder and key software programming, installation and day to day management.

    + Physical security design, project management and security technology background and experience critical.

    + Corporate security experience is critical.

    + Must have strong knowledge of field installations, equipment maintenance, cost estimating, and budget development.

    + Supplier management including scheduling, contractor control, direction, and contract administration.

    + Experience in external vendor or contractor coordination, strong understanding of contract management, procurement processes, and supplier relationship practices is a plus.

    + Excellent relationship building, communication, analytical, time-management, team building, and problem-solving skills required, with a high degree of accuracy and a strong attention to detail.

    + Ability and aptitude to communicate with personnel at the assistant director level and above.

    + Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and make decisions quickly and confidently in emergency situations that may have a corporate-wide impact.

    + Minimal travel is required.

    + Previous experience in a corporate environment or consultancy, ideally security related and effective communicator at all levels.

     

    Salary Range Information

     

    Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

     

    Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

     

    $71250 - $95950 / year

     

    Time Off Program

     

    Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
