    Hours: Administrators and Supervisors are expected to devote the necessary time and effort required to properly complete their assigned responsibilities. It is understood that such time and effort may exceed the limits of normal working hours.

    Requirements:

    + Must possess a valid NYS administrative certificate (SDA/SDL) or be eligible for the same;

    + Must possess an understanding of NYSED Blueprint for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities;

    + Must demonstrate expertise in Part 200 Regulations and development of quality compliant IEPs;

    + Must demonstrate expertise of Part 200 Regulations and Part 201 Regulations outlining disciplinary procedures for Students with Disabilities

    + Must possess an understanding of related service area programs and staff;

    + Must possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;

    + Must possess a broad background of educational experience in the area(s) of administration, supervision, teaching, and/or curriculum development; and

    + Experience as a building or district administrator preferred

    Description:

    Supports the Executive Director and Director of Pupil Personnel Services by providing administrative and technical assistance for the overall pupil services program in the District including: (1) planning and implementation of the Blueprint for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities and Part 200 Regulations; and (2) oversight of behavioral and academic support systems for all students. Responsible for displaying the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, school personnel and agencies associated with the District/School.     Job Duties:

    + Serve as a district Section 504 and Full Committee CSE Chairperson

    + Serve as a PPS Department administrative liaison between schools and District Office, with a focus on connections to the District Comprehensive Improvement Plan, School Improvement Plans, and the NYSED Compliance Assurance Plan. The successful candidate will be stationed on one secondary campus, Monday-Thursday, and will be stationed at the District Office on Fridays.

    + Oversight of implementation of District PPS policies, regulations, procedures, timelines, protocols, and Compliance Assurance Plan Procedures in schools

    + Facilitate Pattern, Manifestation, and Program Review CSE meetings following Long Term Hearing procedures per Part 200 & 201 Regulations

    + Gather and analyze data for progress updates relative to identified school and PPS Department lead and lag measures for Goal 3 of the DCIP and School Improvement Plans

    + Maintain data on suspensions and removals and provide ongoing updates to the school team, Director/Executive Directors of PPS, and the Superintendent’s Cabinet.

    + Collect and analyze the District/School disproportionality data, suspension rates, and classification rates to support an action plan for improvement complete with evaluating the outcomes; serve as a member of the District Code of Conduct Committee

    + Facilitate compliance with Part 200 removal and suspension procedures through ongoing documentation audit/review

    + Co-facilitate re-entry meetings for suspended students with disabilities with Principals/Assistant Principals; collaborate with Restorative TOSAs

    + Collect and analyze New York State Performance Plan data (performance, achievement, family engagement, classification rate, suspensions & removals, time spent in LRE, etc)

    + Provide ongoing professional development in research based instructional strategies, behavior interventions, and supports for students with disabilities, related services or other school based supports; facilitate building level Department Meeting/Special Education PLC and other PL opportunities

    + Collaborate with Assistant Director of Out of District Placements to create short and long term plans for students referred to and/or returning from a more restrictive setting

    + Support the Extended School Year Program and CPSE-CSE Transition Process and Procedures (visits, staffing recommendations), including chairing CPSE & CSE meetings, analyzing and refining processes, managing registration and enrollment procedures, etc.

    + Represent the District, when requested, in mediation, administrative hearings and court proceedings relating to special education, related services, student behavior, etc.

    + Participation in PPS Department meeting structures; other duties as assigned by the Director of PPS and/or Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services
