Position Summary
The Program Manager oversees programs under his or her purview and leads activities that provide efficient and streamlined workflow in the Department of Surgery’s Educational Initiatives. Within the assigned scope, the Program Manager performs project and analytical work of complex nature and is responsible for planning, monitoring, and guiding the execution of transformative educational programs aligned with strategic initiatives.
The Program Manager establishes partnerships with collaborative universities, community organizations, and institutional stakeholders to draft quarterly and annual reports for educational programs, publicize research and educational events, and interface with the Office of Grant and Contracts and the Office of Sponsored Research as needed. The Program Manager is solely responsible for all programmatic and administrative management for the Department of Surgery’s Educational programs.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
+ Minimum of two (2) years of experience crafting proposals and completing grant applications.
+ Experience managing projects within a matrix environment.
+ Sound writing skills, strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to explain complex problems and analyses and visualize the results in presentation or other formats for the audience to understand.
+ Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.
+ Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams,
Preferred Qualifications
+ Three (3) years of related experience in managing educational programs.

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
+ Develop, implement and evaluate surgical educational programs.
+ Develop and implement a strategy for the recruitment of applicants for the surgical education programs.
+ Pursue and administer grant funding for educational programs.
+ Develop policies and procedures to execute programs: recruitment, admissions, marketing, acceptance criteria, curriculum, and student policies.
+ Develop and manage project schedules and timelines.
+ Build relationships with educational program officers from local schools and funding agencies.
+ Lead meetings and provides a summary of resulting action items after each session.
+ Format manuscripts for journal specifications.
+ Provide administrative support to faculty.

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
