    Description

    Our client, a research-led, innovative, global pharmaceutical company, is looking for a senior corporate paralegal to join their team in Elmwood Park, NJ.

     

    • Draft, review, and revise non-disclosure, vendor, service, and commercial agreements and other legal and corporate documents under the direction and supervision of attorneys.

    • Draft, review, and prepare contract templates.

    • Draft, review, and revise legal presentations, training materials, and other legal documents.

    • Research and analyze statutes, regulations and other legal resources.

    • Gather information and conduct research relative to legal issues under the direction and supervision of attorneys.

    • Issue and track litigation holds under the direction and supervision of attorneys.

    • Maintain electronic records database and physical files for all correspondence, business contracts and agreements and litigations.

    • Ensure contract database tracker (Excel worksheet) and relevant contracts are complete and up-to-date.

    • Interface and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on agreements, as needed.

    • Serve as custodian of Legal Department records.

    • Lead and manage the collection of required information and data for transparency reporting.

    • Draft, file and maintain Legal Department documents and Board of Director resolutions, agendas, minutes, and other documents.

    • Assist in process improvement and resource development to meet current and future needs of Legal Department.

    • Collaborate regularly with attorneys and internal stakeholders for assigned projects to find solutions to routine legal issues.

    • Attend Legal Department and cross functional team meetings and draft meeting minutes.

    • Provide administrative support to attorneys in the Legal Department and to the Board of Directors, such as scheduling meetings, arranging travel, preparing expense reports, preparing meeting minutes, drafting correspondence, tracking legal training and other organizational tasks, obtaining documents and signatures, and other tasks as needed.

    • Act as subject matter expert for current e-billing system.

    • Proactively manage all invoices for compliance with outside counsel guidelines and approve invoices pertaining to legal matters and litigations, checking for accuracy, cost center coding, and cost containment, and ensure invoices are approved and paid on time.

    • Prepare budget status reports monthly or as needed, pertaining to outside counsel/vendor expenses; analyze actual and projected costs vs. budgeted amounts, including breakdown of costs by product, vendor, and other applicable categories.

    • Prepare ad hoc budget reports as needed (e.g., spend for a particular vendor for a particular time frame).

    • Notarize documents.

    Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree related to law preferred.

    • Paralegal Certificate from accredited ABA-Approved Program preferred.

     

    Ideal experience: working with the FDA, DEA, and other regulatory agencies. Strong knowledge of contracting and legal procedures, particularly related to pharmaceutical contracts and nondisclosure agreements.
