    *Position Summary:*

     

    Sovah Danville is seeking a part-time Behavior Health Technician to provide services to ensure a safe environment for psychiatric patients in a locked inpatient unit setting.

     

    * Performs continual surveillance of behavioral health unit monitors and operates the patient-monitoring system.

    * Monitors dining/day rooms and hallways on Behavioral Health when occupied by patients to assure patient safety in the environment.

    * Monitors patients for suspicious behavior indicating the possibility of self-harm.

    * Reports incidents, utilizes nursing staff for concerns, discusses recent issues, and any pertinent patient details with the covering/on-coming behavioral health monitor technician.

    * Recognizes patient behaviors in the dining/day room and hallway environment that may result in an unsafe situation.

    *Minimum Education:*

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
