About the Role:

We’re looking for a highly motivated Big Data Engineer to join our growing data engineering team. In this role, you'll architect and develop large-scale data processing solutions that empower business intelligence, advanced analytics, and machine learning initiatives. You'll work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to design scalable and reliable data pipelines across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data

+ Develop ETL/ELT workflows to support real-time and batch processing

+ Optimize data storage, performance, and cost efficiency across distributed systems

+ Integrate diverse data sources using big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Hive

+ Work with data science and analytics teams to ensure data availability, accuracy, and accessibility

+ Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in production data systems

+ Implement best practices in data governance, privacy, and security

+ Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and DevOps teams

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field

+ 3+ years of experience in big data engineering or data infrastructure

+ Proficiency in big data tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hive, and HDFS

+ Strong SQL and programming skills (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java)

+ Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data lake architectures

+ Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and distributed computing

+ Experience working with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Luigi, or similar

Preferred Skills:

+ Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)

+ Experience with containerization and infrastructure-as-code (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)

+ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (Git)

+ Exposure to machine learning workflows and real-time analytics pipelines
