Description
A well-established, full-service commercial property management firm based in the Raleigh, NC area is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its growing operations. With a strong presence in the Triangle and surrounding areas, we are committed to delivering exceptional financial and property management services to our clients.
We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will support the financial operations and reporting for a portfolio of commercial real estate entities. This role works closely with the property management team to ensure the highest standard of financial integrity and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Weekly (or as needed):
+ Post dues and rent receipts; reconcile against expected revenues.
+ Monitor and report delinquencies or problem accounts.
+ Assist in processing deposits and optimizing cash flow.
+ Enter approved invoices into accounting software (Yardi experience is a plus).
+ Maintain updated records: rent rolls, budget comparisons, lease data.
Monthly:
+ Reconcile bank accounts; report any discrepancies.
+ Track revenue and manage accounts receivable.
+ Coordinate collections with property managers.
+ Process vendor payments (checks/EFT).
+ Prepare monthly financial reports for CFO review and client distribution.
Quarterly:
+ Review financial performance vs. projections; escalate significant variances.
+ Support budget reviews with property managers.
Annually:
+ Assist with year-end tax reporting and audits.
+ Support preparation and updates to annual budgets in collaboration with property managers.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Experience in property management accounting preferred.
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi or similar software a plus.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
+ Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
+ Commitment to confidentiality and ethical financial practices.
