    This position on the NYC Transit payroll is competitive and is eligible for the 55-a Program. This position is open to qualified persons who are eligible for the 55-a Program.     Compensation:

    Salary Range:

    $128,958 - $ 174,060 (Grade A-920pts)

    Responsibilities:

    + Directly accountable for managing and conducting investigations and studies into fraud, abuse, and mismanagement involving all NYCT and MTA Bus employees.

    + Perform investigations/studies of the following issues: payroll/time, asset recovery, employee misconduct, arrests, harassment, vandalism, security, workplace violence, internet usage, etc.

    + Prepare high-level, high-profile reports that recommend and direct the implementation of corrective actions to prevent fraud, abuse, and mismanagement.

    + Represent NYCT and MTA Bus in joint investigations with law enforcement, other MTA agencies, and outside agencies.

    Education and Experience:

    Baccalaureate degree, ten (10) years of experience, of which five (5) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative capacity.

    Desired Skills:

    + Demonstrated ability to work in a large, complex, heavily unionized, and diverse operating environment with multiple work locations and a large employee population.

    + Knowledge of auditing, investigative/surveillance techniques, penal code, NYCT and MTA Bus operating and administrative policies and procedures, and relevant regulations.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    + Strong leadership, problem-solving, and computer skills.

    + Ability to interface effectively with senior management, staff, and MTA affiliates, and external organizations.

    + Valid Driver's License with no restrictions in the State of New York

    Selection Method:

    Based on the evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

     

    All selected candidates will be subject to a full background investigation that includes employment and education. Discrepancies may lead to dismissal.
