**Job Summary** :
The Senior Data Engineer designs, builds, and optimizes data pipelines and architectures that support the company's data and analytics initiatives. This role plays a key part in enabling data-driven decision-making by ensuring reliable, scalable, and efficient access to data across systems. The Senior Data Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define data integration strategies, and implement data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and advanced data science applications. The role also involves hands-on development and deployment of data workflows and modeling using Palantir Foundry, aligning business needs with scalable solutions on the platform.
**Essential Duties** :
+ Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand data requirements and design end-to-end data solutions.
+ Build, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using Palantir Foundry's Code Workbooks, Pipelines, and Workshop environments.
+ Model datasets through Foundry Ontologies, enabling semantic layer integration and consistent, governed access to key entities.
+ Create and manage data models, schemas, and data marts to support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases.
+ Design and implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring mechanisms across Foundry pipelines.
+ Work closely with Data Scientists and Analysts to ensure smooth data accessibility and performance for modeling and analysis.
+ Develop documentation and reusable components within Foundry to standardize engineering workflows and reduce development time.
+ Support junior engineers by mentoring and promoting best practices in coding, testing, and Foundry platform utilization.
+ Identify gaps and opportunities in data integration and design solutions leveraging Foundry’s ecosystem.
+ Stay up to date with emerging data engineering tools and technologies and help evaluate and implement them where applicable.

Qualifications
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
**Education** :
+ Basic/Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, etc.
+ Preferred: Master’s Degree
**Essential Qualifications** :
+ 4+ years of experience in a Data Engineering or Software Engineering role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Hands-on experience using Palantir Foundry, particularly in developing Workshops, Pipelines, and building Ontologies.
+ Strong experience with data pipeline frameworks and orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar).
+ Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
+ Experience with data integration from various systems like ERP, MES, SCADA, APIs, or streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Spark).
+ Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, Snowflake, MongoDB).
+ Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and performance tuning.
+ Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences.
+ Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
**Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial data environment is a plus.
+ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
+ Exposure to visualization and reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Foundry dashboards.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
+ Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
