About this Job
This position is for a full-time, 12-month, unclassified, staff position.
Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Associate degree or five (5) years of purchasing experience.
+ Five (5) years of purchasing and/or management experience.
+ Two (2) years of budget and contract management experience.
+ Two (2) years of customer service experience.
+ Prior training experience hosting live sessions preferred.
+ Prior Banner experience preferred.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Must have use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls.
+ Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
+ Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds.
+ Must be capable of sitting in stationary position for 50% or more of time.

Job Specification
This position is responsible for providing leadership and management assistance to the purchasing and procurement operations for Bossier Parish Community College.
Job Duties and Other Information
+ Ensure new faculty and staff are provided proper access to purchasing policies and procedures.
+ Work collaboratively with college faculty and staff in understanding purchasing laws, regulations and policies.
+ Provide research of new vendors, investigate new products, and work to develop methods to more effectively utilize scarce resources to acquire materials, supplies and equipment needed by the campus community.
+ Work collaboratively with campus departments in the monitoring of their budgets. Monitor departmental budgets to ensure Purchase Orders are not issued unless sufficient funding exists in the account(s).
+ Provide direction, training and guidance to agency personnel in resolving routine and non-routine procurement related matters.
+ Conduct purchasing training for agency personnel in Banner.
+ Provide oversight and supervision to department Student Workers.
+ Attend Bid Openings with Vendors when Director unavailable.
+ Process of Check Requests, Requisitions, Receiving Reports and Purchase Orders in accordance with State and College guidelines as directed.
+ Create and reproduce internal forms and documents.
+ Review and prioritize mail and screen visitors.
+ Addresses issues related to quality, delivery and invoicing.
+ Verifies budget codes and availability of funds.
+ Manages and updates purchasing records and pricing data.
+ Assist Director with purchasing duties for Louisiana Delta Community College, Fletcher Technical Community College and Northwest Louisiana Technical College as directed.
