Description

Radiographer (x ray inspector) will perform inspections and testing on industrial gas turbines and perform structural testing.

Day to day: Come in, start the day by doing calibration checks on the equipment and reading areas. Interpret the film, fill out necessary reports, map out defects. The inspector will have a reader sheet that lists the different views. Accept and reject parts. Close out work travelers and provide a certification. It is a repeated process throughout the day. Workload varies because one day this person could help filing film , logging in product , processing the parts, shooting the product but the main responsibilities will be interpreting the images that are being created. Some days might be slower than others.

They do everything in-house. They will bring in parts from their customers and then do the inspection for their clients.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

-NAS 410 and ASNT certification

-X ray Level 2 certification

-Must be flexible to work overtime

Should provide the following records:

1. Certification for passing RT Level 2 (Film or Digital) classroom

2. OJT training hours

3. Certification for RT Level 2 – this consist of a general test, specific test and practical’s.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
