Responsibilities

+ Provides leadership in maintaining safety, quality and efficiency throughout the department.

+ Directs all production activities through the Production Supervisors, as a member of the Plant Manager’s staff, coordinates interdepartmental activities with other department managers.

+ Plans department expense budget and the method of operation to remain within the budget and assures cost control and cost improvement projects.

+ Monitors and controls labor, regrind levels, and material variances.

+ Determine proper utilization of workforce based on production demands.

+ Conducts daily production meetings and communicates with all departments to direct support group activities.

+ Monitors production and labor efficiencies to ensure that Company standards are met and maintains proper production practices.

+ Adherence to quality standards established by the Company to maintain customer satisfaction.

+ Trains and develops production personnel.

+ Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.

+ Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.

+ Serve as the back up to the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

+ Five or more years experience leading a manufacturing department with results proven metrics of success.

+ Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees

+ Bachelors Degree in Management/Business, preferred.

+ Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

+ Experience in manufacturing supervisory role with a proven track record in leading manufacturing teams.

+ Experience with Quality Systems and Programs

+ Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices, LEAN Manufacturing, 5's, World Class Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma.

+ Ability to work flexible hours, which may include holidays and weekends.

+ Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
