Job Summary:Coordination and management of Supported Employment services for SJCS-DC including skill assessment, job development, training and long term support for consumers; and required reports and documentation; performs other job related duties as assigned.Essential Functions:• Conducts site development; cultivates and maintains productive relationships with businesses in the community;• Assists in conducting the Supported Employment Program in accordance with Department of Labor and other applicable regulatory and professional standards.• Serves as a liaison with government agencies and community service providers.• Produces oral and written reports to address internal and external information needs.• Participates in the development and monitoring of the annual program budget.• Participates in the development of annual program goals and objectives.• Maintains client records in a manner which is efficient, useful and informative to consumers and their guardians, and which is in compliance with the applicable regulations and standards.• Assists in the development and annual update a program operations manual.• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates performance of staff.• Conducts regular observations of program operations.• Assesses consumers to determine annual vocational goals and objectives of IHP's as well as to determine appropriate job matches.• Ensures daily programming for consumers that is community based, integrated and consistent with the programs mission and SJCS quality standards.• Participates in workshops, conferences, academic courses and other professional development activities relevant to the position.• Provides coverage when there is a staffing need; and• Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Ability to gain thorough knowledge of St. John’s Community Services policies and procedures;• Ability to act as a representative of St. John’s Community Services to the public;• Thorough knowledge of job development and job coaching practices and procedures;• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds;• Ability to research, prepare, review and maintain reports and documents;• Ability to maintain confidentiality;• Ability to use sound judgment when making decisions;• Skilled in the operation of relevant computer systems, including hardware and software, and office machines.Education and Experience:1. B.A./B.S. Degree in a Psychology, Education, Special Education, Rehabilitation or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.2. Requires a minimum of three years direct service experience with persons with severe disabilities, preferably in a competitive employment setting.3. One year of supervision experience required.4. Vocational program development and implementation required.5. Requires three or more years experience working with persons with disabilities;6. Must meet SJCS and funding jurisdiction current requirements for criminal background/records check.7. Valid health certificate to meet current funding jurisdiction requirements;8. Valid state-issued driver’s license with current driving record in good standing required.
