    Responsibilities:

    GENERAL PURPOSE

    The Thrive FASD Research Project Coordinator at Mt. Hope Family Center will coordinate the Thrive Person-Center Planning intervention research project. This project is testing the effectiveness of a person-centered planning intervention for young adults with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). The Research Project Coordinator role entails: (a) managing the study research team including oversight of research duties, (b) coordinating the recruitment of participants, (c) serving as the liaison between the research team, intervention facilitators, lab manager, and investigators involved with the project, d) overseeing and assisting with the implementation of data collection procedures involving interviews and surveys, as well as participant intervention sessions, and (e) compiling reports of progress for NIH and RSRB. The position requires experience conducting research with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    + Manage study research team including full-time research staff, undergraduate students and other lab members working on the project.

    + Liaison between study research team, lab manager, principal investigator, and intervention facilitators to ensure resources are allocated efficiently and study timelines are met.

    + Oversee and coordinate the collection survey and interview data from participants and intervention facilitators.

    + Oversee data management, entry, documentation, and scoring, and monitor the integrity of data collection.

    + Oversee recruitment activities for the study and communication with study participants about research visits and intervention sessions.

    + Develop research protocols, and generate reports for regulatory bodies, including institutional review board.

    + Preparation of written reports.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    + Bachelor’s degree Required.

    + At least two years of experience with human subjects' research Required.

    + Or equivalent combination of education and experience Required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    + Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Required.

    + Strong attention to detail; ability to multi-task and work independently Required.

    + Comfortable interacting with people of diverse backgrounds, including individuals with trauma histories and mental illness Required.

    + Flexibility to work weekends and evenings Required.

    + Clean driver’s license and reliable transportation Required.

    + The following skills are highly preferred: supervisory experience Required.

    + Experience with longitudinal studies or recruitment in human subjects' research Required.
