    (Senior Programmer/Analyst)

     

    Are you an experienced Banner or Oracle specialist looking to make a meaningful impact across higher education? The SICAS Center, hosted at SUNY Oneonta, is looking for a Remote Database Application Administrator to join our dedicated technical team. In this fully remote role, you'll support campuses across New York State by ensuring the performance, security, and stability of their critical Banner Student Information Systems.

    About SICAS:

    SICAS (Student Information and Campus Administrative Systems) is a SUNY-wide shared services program, supporting over 60 institutions-including SUNY state-operated and community colleges as well as private colleges and universities. We provide essential technical services, best practices, training, and software enhancements for Ellucian's Banner system. Based at SUNY Oneonta, a vibrant public liberal arts college with 6,500 students, we offer the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that serve a diverse academic community.     What You'll Do:

    + Provide remote application support to SUNY campuses primarily during Eastern Time business hours.

    + Perform installations, upgrades, and maintenance for Oracle-based Ellucian Banner systems.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with campus staff.

    + Participate in occasional evening/weekend support and travel to meetings, conferences, or campus sites.

    Job Requirements:

    Who You Are:

    You're a skilled problem-solver with a customer-focused mindset and a passion for educational technology. You enjoy working in a collaborative, service-driven environment and can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree

    + Four years of technical experience supporting Ellucian Banner and/or Oracle.

    Preferred Skills & Experience:

    + Proficiency with Ellucian's Banner SIS

    + Experience using and configuring Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM)

    + Installing and maintaining Oracle-based applications

    + Unix/Linux systems experience

    + Working knowledge of Tomcat, PL/SQL, and Java

    + Strong written communication skills

    + Proven ability to support and interact with diverse populations

    + Comfortable translating technical language for non-technical users via email or phone

    + Capable of juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
