People.AI is seeking a highly skilled and experiencedStaff Machine Learning Engineer. You will be responsible for leading the development of innovative Machine Learning and Generative AI systems, as well as architecting enterprise-grade Machine Learning platform, microservices, and pipelines.

What you'll do...
At People.AI, we build and scale AI and GenAI solutions to empower the HR function—improving productivity, enabling strategic workforce planning, and supporting a culture of well-being and inclusion for all Walmart associates.
We are seeking a Staff Graph Engineer with deep expertise in graph database, knowledge graph design, and graph data pipelines. This role will play a key part in building scalable graph-based systems that power insights across Walmart’s associate experience, including use cases such as Cross Channel Listening, Workforce Planning, and Organizational Intelligence.
What You’ll Do:
+ Lead the design and implementation of enterprise knowledge graphs, including ontology design, schema modeling, and graph-based reasoning.
+ Build robust data pipelines for knowledge graph ingestion using Python, Airflow, and PySpark.
+ Manage and optimize knowledge graph databases, including schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization using Cypher.
+ Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs for exposing graph data to downstream services and end-user applications.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, ML engineers, HR partners, and product teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
+ Work with semantic search, entity linking, and graph-based querying to power intelligent applications and AI assistants.
+ Enforce best practices in data governance, scalability, observability, and security in all graph-related systems.
What You’ll Bring:
+ Proven experience with knowledge graph databases, including designing and managing large-scale graph databases in production.
+ Strong understanding of knowledge graph construction, entity resolution, and schema alignment techniques.
+ Proficiency in Python, with experience in PySpark and Airflow for ETL and data orchestration.
+ Strong command of Cypher and hands-on experience with GraphQL API development.
+ Background in data modeling and working with complex data relationships across multiple domains.
+ Experience working in ML- or AI-driven environments, particularly involving semantic data, LLMs, or intelligent assistants, is a plus.
+ Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Bellevue, Washington US-11075:The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-09430/Dallas, Texas US-09648:The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
