    Required Skills:

    Data Engineer Responsibilities:

    1. Design, build, and launch data pipelines to move data across systems and build the next generation of data tools that generate business insights for a product.

    2. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine workability and to offer support for end users on data usage.

    3. Design, architect, and develop software and data solutions that help product and business teams make data-driven decisions.

    4. Rethink and influence strategy and roadmap for building efficient data solutions and scalable data warehouse plans.

    5. Design, develop, test, and launch new data models and processes into production, and provide support.

    6. Leverage homegrown extract, transform, and load (ETL) framework as well as off-the-shelf ETL tools, as appropriate.

    7. Interface closely with data infrastructure, product, and engineering teams to build and extend cross platform ETL and reports generation framework.

    8. Identify data infrastructure issues and drive to resolution.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    9. Requires a Master’s degree (Foreign equivalent accepted) in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Position requires completion of a university level course, research project, or internship or 6 months of experience in each of the following:

    10. 1. Data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) design, implementation, and maintenance on a large scale

    11. 2. Data visualization via Tableau, R, or Python

    12. 3. Programming in Hack, C/C++, Python, Perl, Java, or PHP

    13. 4. Internet technologies: HTTP, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

    14. 5. Writing and optimizing SQL statements

    15. 6. Analyzing large volumes of data to provide data driven insights, gaps, and inconsistencies

    16. 7. Data governance standard and data privacy compliance

    17. 8. Data processing automation

    18. 9. Data warehousing architecture and plans

    19. 10. Informatica, Talend, Pentaho, dimensional data modeling, or schema design

    20. 11. Map Reduce or MPP system

    21. 12. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence fundamentals

    22. 13. Statistics methods: descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis

    23. 14. Distributed processing technologies and frameworks, such as Hadoop, and distributed storage systems (e.g., HDFS, S3)

    24. 15. Spark programming: code writing, debugging and optimization.

    Public Compensation:

    $182,616/year to $196,900/year + bonus + equity + benefits
