    Required Skills:

    Production Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

    1. Manage a team of Production Engineers responsible for back-end services which handle fleet management, front-end services (such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Meta Ads), infrastructure components that drive Meta’s advances in AI, core services which are used by every team at Meta, the world’s largest MySQL deployments, networking systems and everything in between.

    2. Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems, live, on some of the largest and most complex systems in the world together with your engineering team, you will share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents.

    3. Partner alongside the best engineers in the industry working on the coolest stuff around, the code and systems you work on will be in production and used by billions of people all around the world.

    4. International and domestic travel required 10%.

    5. Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field

    6. Experience or education must include the following skills:

    7. 1. UNIX or Linux operating system fundamentals

    8. 2. TCP/IP network fundamentals

    9. 3. Coding in at least one of the following higher-level programming languages: PHP, Python, C++, or Java

    10. 4. Software frameworks and APIs

    11. 5. Performing 'guerilla capacity planning' for internet service architectures

    12. 6. Internet service architectures (such as load balancing, LAMP, or CDN’s)

    13. 7. Configuring and maintaining applications using at least one of the following: web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems, or messaging systems

    14. 8. Relational Databases including MySQL

    15. 9. Network protocols including at least one of the following: NFS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, or SNMP

    16. 10. Maintaining web-based applications using at least one of the following: Apache, Memecached, or Squid

    17. 11. Storage Systems including NFS

    18. 12. Network Management tools like DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, or SNMP

    19. 13. Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues ranging from low-level hardware issues to large scale failures within datacenter clusters

    20. 14. Experience utilizing high performance query engines (Presto or Spark) for big data

    Public Compensation:

    $277,286/year to $290,180/year + bonus + equity + benefits
