Mobile Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET)
Department: Mobile PET
Shift: full-time, 36hr/wk
+ Monday- 6-6:30 (12 hrs.) Friday- 6-6:30 (12 hrs.) Saturday 6-6:30 (12 hrs)

•️ Your Mission:
A Mobile Nuclear Medicine Technologist II (PET) at Novant Health is a specialized healthcare professional who performs positron emission tomography (PET) scans, often using mobile imaging units.
Contribute to Novant Health's mission of improving the health of communities, one person at a time, by providing high-quality imaging services.
• What You’ll Do:
+ PET Imaging
+ Perform PET and/or PET/CT scans using radiopharmaceuticals to detect disease, most often cancer, cardiac issues, or neurological disorders.
+ Ensure proper patient positioning and image acquisition for accurate diagnostic interpretation.
+ Mobile Unit Operation
+ Travel to various Novant Health locations or partner facilities with a mobile imaging unit.
+ Set up and break down equipment at mobile sites.
+ Radiopharmaceutical Handling
+ Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety and regulatory protocols.
+ Ensure proper radiation safety for self, patients, and others.
+ Patient Care & Communication
+ Educate patients on the scan process and provide compassionate care throughout the procedure.
+ Monitor for adverse reactions to radiotracers.
+ Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control
+ Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain PET equipment.
+ Perform and document quality control checks
+ Documentation & Compliance
+ Maintain accurate patient records, scan results, and dosage logs.
+ Comply with HIPAA, state, and federal nuclear medicine regulations.
• What We’re Looking For:
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
+ Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience combined in PET/CT and nuclear medicine, required.
+ Licensure/Certification:
+ ARRT-N and/or NMTCB, required.
+ CT Registry, PET Registry; preferred.
+ Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing: impeccable communication skills, advanced knowledge of PET equipment operation, quality assurance and ability to troubleshoot as necessary; ability to adapt to various department cultures associated with mobile service facilities. Daily travel is required and flexibility with schedule change is necessary. Ability to modify patient care delivery based upon patient requirements and/or age specific needs. Thorough knowledge of multiple protocol requirements dependent upon service location. In depth understanding of radiation safety requirements and regulations with a focus of adhering to ALARA principles.
