    Job Description:

    The Clinical Engineering (CE) Tech III is responsible for the maintenance and service of assigned medical equipment. Performs various tasks associated with installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of clinical equipment without supervision. Possess a mastery of task, skills, and knowledge of the job and a complete level of expertise. The Clinical Engineering Tech III can educate less experienced technicians and instruct clinical staff on the operation of medical equipment.

    Essential Functions

    + Full understanding of medical equipment, human anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.

    + Expert in troubleshooting and repair techniques to perform equipment repairs.

    + Ability to perform preventive maintenance procedures on all levels of medical equipment.

    + Possess the skill to utilize and train others on the tools and test equipment required for job duties.

    + Adherence to confidentiality requirements and safeguarding of protected health information (PHI).

    + Competent in using and training others on the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

    + Complete knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to medical equipment management.

    Qualifications

    + Three years’ experience working as a CE Tech II, or equivalent, is required.

    + Associate of Applied Science Degree or completion of a Biomedical Technician Certificate Course is preferred. Education will be verified.

    + Biomedical Equipment Technician Certification (CBET) acquired through the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) preferred.

    + Experience in assigned medical equipment environment is preferred.

    + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

    + Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.

    + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

    + May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs.

    + For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $33.75 - $53.16
