Summary:
The Bureau of Specialized Services for Children (BSSC) in the Division of Program Development and Management (DPDM) has overall responsibility for program policy governing a wide range of services and programs for children provided under the Medicaid program including the Children’s Health Home program, Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Children’s Waiver for children/youth with behavioral health, medically complex, and developmental disabilities need, and the voluntary foster care agencies (VFCA) 29-I Health facilities. The incumbent will assist with Medicaid policy development, implementation, and oversight; participating in service eligibility/authorizations; reviewing and updating provider guidance materials; and providing technical assistance via correspondence and conducting training with providers, participants, and other stakeholders.
The candidate must have strong written and interpersonal communication skills and be proficient with using Microsoft Office applications. The candidate must also possess strong problem solving, decision-making and time management skills. The preferred candidate possesses knowledge of Children Services including medical and behavioral health conditions regarding the various children’s populations of Serious Emotional Disturbance, Foster Care, Medically Fragile, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use and other chronic conditions.
Responsibilities:
+ Become knowledgeable and develop an understanding of the Children’s Health Home program, Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Children’s Waiver, Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS), and Foster Care/29-I services to best assist with changes and/or enhancements to the services and programs.
+ Assist the supervisor and staff in a broad range of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting activities.
+ Research regulations, assist with developing policies & procedures, and preparing guidance documents related to a wide range of subjects relevant to the development, implementation, and management of the children services, including developing power points, presenting training webinars, and drafting announcements.
+ Actively participate in projects and initiatives addressing needs within the Children’s Services design. This may include assisting with evaluating and determining program eligibility and/or service authorizations and working collaboratively with Medicaid Managed Care Plans and Children’s Health Homes, assisting with overseeing the provision of environmental/vehicle modifications to members, working with training contractors, and/or assisting with new initiatives.
+ Respond to program inquiries, provide technical assistance to providers and program staff, and communicate with and provide program education to members/caregivers.
+ Collaborate and work with staff, contractors, and state partners regarding various project and program aspects of Children Services of the Health Homes and HCBS program as well as State Plan Services.
+ Other activities may be deemed necessary in response to the changing needs of OHIP.
Basic Qualifications:
+ 9 years of healthcare experience*
+ *An associate degree counts as 2 years of experience, a bachelor's degree counts as 4 years of experience, and a master's degree counts as 5 years of experience

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship including H-1B sponsorship) by SSO. Under the federal laws relating to the F-1 STEM EAD program, SSO may be able to support a STEM EAD extension application at the sole discretion of your Designated School Official.
