    Job Description:

    The Ren Lab, led by Dr. Yinshi Ren, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Scottish Rite for Children, is recruiting two postdoctoral fellows to join a multidisciplinary team investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms of bone regeneration and disease. Dr. Ren is an NIH-funded investigator with over 15 years of experience in orthopaedic research, with particular expertise in bone biology, tissue healing, and osteonecrosis. The lab integrates advanced mouse genetics, histological and imaging techniques, and omics-based approaches to explore stem cell function, angiogenesis, and bone-fat crosstalk in skeletal disorders.

    Research Areas of Interest:

    We are particularly interested in candidates with a background or strong interest in one or more of the following areas:

    + Bone biology and skeletal stem cell regulation

    + Vascular biology and angiogenesis in bone repair

    + Lipid metabolism and its role in skeletal tissues

    + Pain perception and neurovascular interactions in bone disease

    Qualifications:

    + Ph.D. (or M.D./Ph.D.) in biomedical sciences, cell biology, molecular biology, physiology, or a related field

    + Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals

    + Experience in animal models, molecular biology, imaging, and/or omics (bulk or single-cell RNA-seq)

    + Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills

    Preferred Skills:

    + Experience with bone histology, micro-CT, and tissue clearing

    + Background in vascular biology, metabolic signaling, or neurobiology

    + Ability to work independently and mentor junior researchers

     

    This is a full-time position with access to exceptional core facilities and a collaborative research environment across UTSW and Scottish Rite for Children, a leading pediatric orthopedic institution. Postdocs will have opportunities for mentorship, career development, and participation in high-impact translational research.
