• Staff Accountant

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Boca Raton, FL)


    Description

    We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of our property management portfolio. This role will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks for multiple properties and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working with Homeowner Association (HOA), Condo, and Co-op Boards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist with general ledger maintenance, including journal entries and reconciliations for multiple properties

    + Support the preparation of monthly financial reports for board meetings and internal review

    + Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper coding and timely payments

    + Help track owner assessments, special assessments, and collections

    + Assist in preparing and reconciling bank statements and reserve accounts

    + Maintain financial records in accordance with company policy and HOA/Condo Board requirements

    + Provide support during budget planning and annual audits

    + Communicate with property managers and board members to address financial questions and gather required documentation

    + Ensure accuracy and completeness of vendor W-9s, invoices, and 1099 reporting

    + Maintain organized and auditable financial files for each property or association

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    + 2–4 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in property management or real estate

    + Familiarity with HOA/Condo Board operations and multi-entity accounting preferred

    + Proficiency in accounting software such as AppFolio, Yardi, QuickBooks, or Buildium

    + Strong Excel skills and attention to detail

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment

    + Clear written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred:

    + Experience working with homeowners, board members, or association management teams

    + Understanding of association accounting, including reserves, assessments, and capital projects

    + Interest in long-term growth within property or real estate accounting
