Description
We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Dalton, Georgia. This role involves supporting payroll operations for a dynamic organization within the textile manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will excel in time and attendance management, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate adaptability in learning new technologies. Must have multi-state experience!
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive support for payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
• Manage time and attendance systems, specifically Workforce, to maintain accurate employee records.
• Collaborate with front-line leaders to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to perform calculations, analyze data, and support payroll audits.
• Apply knowledge of payroll codes and regulations, including state-specific laws such as California overtime rules.
• Handle garnishments and ensure proper processing within payroll systems.
• Conduct audits and offer insights for process improvements when needed.
• Adapt to evolving technologies and systems to enhance payroll efficiency.
• Assist in payroll-related analysis to support decision-making processes.

Requirements
• Prior experience in payroll operations, with familiarity in handling diverse pay codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in time and attendance systems, particularly Workforce.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to work with accounting software and tools, including Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of payroll-related garnishments and their processing.
• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to perform audits and identify discrepancies.
• Capability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
• Familiarity with state-specific payroll laws, such as California overtime regulations, is preferred.
