    Description

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a Contract basis, with the opportunity to earn a permanent role. As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in account coding, and maintaining compliance with company policies. This position is based in Iowa City, Iowa, and offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic work environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and process invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy in account coding and adherence to company policies.

    • Manage and execute check runs, ACH payments, and other financial transactions in a timely manner.

    • Reconcile credit card statements and bank deposits to maintain accurate financial records.

    • Handle requests for check processing and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained.

    • Utilize QuickBooks Online and Excel formulas to manage financial data and generate reports.

    • Monitor and troubleshoot discrepancies in invoice processing and payment reconciliation.

    • Maintain organized records of all accounts payable activities for auditing purposes.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company standards.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in accounts payable

    • Strong knowledge of account coding, invoice processing, and payment methods such as ACH.

    • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software

    • Familiarity with credit card reconciliation and bank deposit procedures.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Background working within Microsoft Excel

    • Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
