Description

We are looking for a skilled Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy and organization of critical documentation. This role requires an individual with strong attention to detail who excels in managing financial records and maintaining compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities:

+ Manage full-cycle monthly close across AP, AR, Payroll, Billing, and GL with timely delivery.

+ Provide accurate financial reports and forecasts to support business decisions.

+ Maintain a rolling 12-week cash flow forecast to track receipts, payables, and key events.

+ Lead budgeting and cost control efforts for financial clarity and accountability.

+ Oversee contract lifecycle from review to billing setup; ensure alignment in Vista.

+ Manage and optimize core business systems, including Vista, Google Workspace, Slack, Power BI, and cybersecurity tools.

+ Improve efficiency through automation, playbooks, and system integration.

+ Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance reporting and data integrity.

+ Ensure HR systems align compensation, benefits, culture, and performance.

+ Enforce structured quarterly reviews and early identification of performance issues.

+ Manage recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compliance, and terminations.

+ Lead talent development using tools like Culture Index and scorecards.

+ Model operational discipline and drive accountability across teams.

+ Coach leaders for improved results and stronger communication.

+ Ensure compliance with insurance, bonding, and subcontractor terms.

+ Monitor project risks, billing approvals, and compliance status.

Requirements

+ Over 10 years of leadership in accounting, finance, or operations, with responsibility for financial reporting, systems, and team performance

+ Proven ability to manage cross-functional areas including contracts, compliance, HR, and technology

+ Expertise in project-based accounting and construction finance, including job costing, WIP reporting, and cash flow forecasting

+ Highly proficient in ERP systems, especially Vista by Viewpoint, and tools like BI platforms, MDM, and cloud-based collaboration software

+ Successful track record of building scalable systems, implementing controls, and improving performance through data-driven strategies

+ Strong communicator and coach with the ability to lead change while maintaining team alignment and trust

+ CPA or equivalent credential preferred, though not required with demonstrated strategic leadership experience
