Description We are looking for a dedicated Cost Accounting Manager to join our team in Woodland Hills, California. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing operations accounting team while driving process improvements and ensuring compliance across multiple manufacturing sites. Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of operations accounting professionals to foster collaboration and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee the month-end close process for plant operations, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances.
• Conduct detailed analyses of overhead, manufacturing, and inventory variances, and prepare purchase price variance reports.
• Collaborate with plant personnel to manage inventory costing, job closures, and physical inventory execution.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and organizational standards while spearheading process improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, as well as cross-functional teams such as Operations, Procurement, and IT.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures to ensure consistency across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Serve as a trusted financial partner to operations, providing insights and recommendations to enhance decision-making. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; advanced degrees or certifications such as CPA are preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of standard cost systems, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create automated reports, build reconciliations, and analyze variances using pivot tables and lookup functions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present complex accounting information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and work comfortably in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
