    Description

    We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the financial functions of a nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks, payroll processing, and grants management while also having experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and financial analysis. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Bookkeeping and Financial Management:

    + Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping, including tracking transactions, reconciling bank accounts, and maintaining accurate general ledger records

    + Oversee accounts payable and ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices.

    QuickBooks and Software Management:

    + Utilize QuickBooks to document financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and generate necessary reports for decision-making.

    + Troubleshoot and optimize software processes for better efficiency.

    Payroll Processing:

    + Handle the processing of payroll, including ensuring compliance with tax regulations and nonprofit-specific reporting requirements.

    + Maintain personnel financial records and coordinate with HR on payroll-related matters.

    Grants Management:

    + Monitor, track, and manage incoming and outgoing grant funds to ensure compliance with donor restrictions and funding requirements.

    + Prepare detailed grant reports as required by funders or auditors.

    Reconciliations and Financial Analysis:

    + Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts monthly to ensure financial data integrity.

    + Perform periodic financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential financial risks.

    Financial Reporting:

    + Prepare and present financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, tailored to nonprofit requirements.

    + Assist with budget preparation and provide financial insights to leadership for strategic decision-making.

    Compliance and Audit Support:

    + Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and IRS requirements (e.g., maintaining 501(c)(3) reporting).

    + Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and provide required documentation

    Requirements

    • AA in accounting or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a non-profit organization.

    • Expertise in accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, month-end close, and account reconciliation.

    • Familiarity with government grants, donations, and cost statement preparation.

    • Proficiency QuickBooks and Excel

    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
