Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a great client's team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Analyze financial data to support reporting requirements and decision-making processes.

• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support organizational goals.

• Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and formulas, to streamline accounting processes.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and assist in audits when necessary.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices for financial operations.

• Support the preparation of financial statements and other reports as required.

• Act as a resource for less experienced team members, promoting a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

• CPA or close to completing highly preferred

• Big four public accounting experience highly preferred

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or audit.

• Proficiency in month-end close procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliation.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and complex formulas.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
