Description
A construction firm with locations in lower Fairfield County and Westchester County is seeking a detail oriented Bookkeeper to join their team.
Duties include the following:
+ Handle and monitor precise financial data related to business transactions, including managing payables, receivables, and employee compensation systems, all with an emphasis on efficiency and scalability.
+ Oversee billing processes for both clients and vendors, ensuring payments are processed promptly and addressing any issues or inconsistencies that arise during company expansion.
+ Conduct routine reviews and alignments of bank, credit card, and vendor accounts to maintain accuracy and ensure dependable financial reporting.
+ Assist with payroll processing by calculating work hours, managing payment schedules, and ensuring all payroll activities adhere to local, state, and federal laws.
+ Monitor organizational spending, identify unusual patterns or discrepancies, and collaborate with leadership to implement cost-saving measures aligned with growth strategies.
+ Partner with acquisition teams to bring new businesses into the company’s financial systems and ensure accurate tracking of expenses related to expansion.
+ Prepare regular financial summaries—monthly, quarterly, and yearly—that provide meaningful insights to help leadership make informed decisions.
+ Recommend and implement enhancements to accounting procedures to better support a dynamic, fast-growing business with ongoing acquisitions.
+ Ensure adherence to financial rules and standards across all business units and assist with activities related to audits and regulatory reviews.

Requirements
Qualifications
+ Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably within the construction, contractor, or home services industries. Experience in working for PE-backed or high-growth businesses is highly desirable.
+ Advanced knowledge of accounting systems like QuickBooks, SAGE, or ADP for payroll.
+ Familiarity with job costing, multi-entity accounting, or project accounting principles is preferred but not required.
+ Demonstrated accuracy, timeliness, and diligence in managing complex financial processes.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner with leadership and operational teams to ensure financial alignment.
+ Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement scalable processes in line with growth targets.
