Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee critical aspects of the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across departments to maintain financial accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounts receivable process for team members, addressing any customer collection challenges and escalating issues to appropriate personnel such as Sales, Project Managers, or General Managers.

• Assess customer creditworthiness on a regular basis and determine suitable credit limits while aligning with regional or national credit strategies.

• Build and nurture relationships with customers, responding promptly to billing inquiries and resolving payment disputes.

• Manage daily check deposits and periodic cash deposits, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payment receipts.

• Monitor aging accounts receivable reports and implement strategies to minimize overdue accounts.

• Develop cash flow forecasts based on accounts receivable trends and projections.

• Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts receivable to the general ledger to ensure accuracy.

• Prepare detailed accounts receivable roll-forward during month-end close and present reports to senior management.

• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams to resolve account discrepancies and maintain smooth workflows. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles.

• Proficiency in handling commercial collections and managing cash applications.

• Strong knowledge of billing processes and cash collection procedures.

• Familiarity with accounts receivable aging reports and forecasting techniques.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments.

• Knowledge of accounting standards and company policies regarding payment processing.
