Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Woodland Hills, California. This role focuses on manufacturing accounting, cost analysis, and inventory management, offering a chance to make a significant impact within a dynamic steel manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting month-end close processes, and driving cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and validate metal receipts, addressing discrepancies in pricing, purchase orders, and non-receipts.

• Collaborate with vendors and plant teams to resolve issues related to Advance Shipping Notifications.

• Analyze and report metal price variances, ensuring accurate customer pass-through documentation.

• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for areas such as rebates, tariffs, freight, and metal in transit.

• Oversee vendor claims processing, collections, and compile monthly executive reports.

• Review and investigate monthly freight invoices, resolving discrepancies and ensuring proper accruals.

• Maintain accurate records for metal coil receipts with outside processors and set up standard costs for steel coils.

• Perform utility invoice reconciliations and share findings with plant operations teams.

• Support ad hoc financial projects and contribute to process improvements within the Operations Accounting team.

• Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to enhance cost accounting practices and financial visibility. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or inventory-focused roles.

• Proficiency in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or similar ERP systems.

• Advanced Excel skills, including expertise in pivot tables and complex reconciliation models.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving results and solving problems.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
